An evidence-based approach to falls prevention, mind health and maintaining independence.
As we age, it’s important to stay active physically and mentally to maintain independence. Our Soaring Seniors Program supports you in looking after your body and mind, giving you confidence in your ability even if it’s been a while since you joined an exercise program.
Our purpose-built centre is staffed and equipped to assist with healthy ageing movement sessions, including those who may have chronic medical conditions or are recovering from surgery. The program considers common conditions experienced, such as early signs or symptoms of dementia, arthritis, or other painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Our 12-week Soaring Seniors Program has been designed for individuals who may be feeling unsteady on their feet, have had a recent fall, or simply need to move more. The program is evidence-based and tailored to your level and abilities. We run a number of these classes over the week, and no matter what your ability, we encourage you to give us a call to discuss your specific condition and how we can help you improve your balance and independence and reduce any further injury associated with falling.
The Soaring Seniors Program is run by our engaging, accredited Exercise Physiologists with extensive Active Ageing experience.
You will first meet with our Exercise Physiologist to assess your personal health, movement patterns, concerns, and goals.
1-hour group classes are held twice weekly, on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 10:30am.
A re-assessment consultation with our Exercise Physiologist will take place at the end of the 12 weeks to assess progress and the next steps.
No referrals are needed are needed for sign up.
